Theatre festival for persons with disabilities

Deputy of Rehabilitation Affairs of Iran Rehabilitation Organization is going to hold the 4th International Disabled Theater Festival from 2 to 7 December 2016 following with the plans for social integrating and combining the disabled people, focusing on the improvement of the culture of accessing artistic-cultural facilities for the public, providing interaction possibilities, exchanging the experiences and information with other cultures, societies, and nations, and accessing the newest theater successes of the disabled people along with other worldwide disabled theater artists.

Luc Opdebeeck will offer two times a 2-sessions workshop Theatre of the Oppressed during the festival. This workshop will focus on an introduction to a range of participatory theatrical interventions used for the liberation on, off and by people with learning dissability’s. It assists they’re journey from the liberation of an ‘internal and external exile’. The approach has wider application and implications for other marginalized communities.
